Who we are
Romik Web Studios (“Romik”, “we”, “us”) is a web design and development studio serving businesses in Canada and the United States. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it and the choices you have.
Questions about it are welcome at Romikwebstudio@gmail.com.
Information you choose to share
We only collect personal information that you choose to give us: when you send an inquiry, book a consultation or email us. You don’t need to share anything to browse this website, and it has no user accounts.
When you email us, we receive your email address, your name if your email shows it, and whatever you include in your message.
This website is meant for businesses. It isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
The inquiry form
The inquiry form on our Contact page asks for:
- Your name and your business name
- Your email address, and your phone number and current website if you add them
- What you need, your approximate budget and your timeline
- The project details you write in your message
When you send the form, your inquiry is stored in our database so we can read it and reply. To slow down spam and repeated submissions, our server also stores a scrambled code made from your IP address and the date. We don’t store the IP address itself, and the code changes every day.
Sending the form doesn’t add you to a mailing list. Forms on our concept demo pages don’t send or store anything.
Consultation booking
Our Book a Call links open Cal.com, a third-party scheduling service. When you book, Cal.com collects the details you enter, such as your name, email address, chosen time and any notes, and shares them with us so we can hold the consultation. Cal.com handles that information under its own privacy policy and terms.
We use your booking details to prepare for the call, hold it and follow up on it.
Technical information
Like most websites, ours is delivered by a hosting provider whose servers automatically process standard technical information when you visit. This can include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, the page that referred you, and the date and time of your visit. It is used to deliver the website, keep it secure and fix problems, and may be kept in server logs for a limited time.
We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies, and we don’t run third-party tracking or advertising on this website. Your browser keeps one small setting for the length of your visit so the opening animation plays only once. It isn’t used to identify you.
How we use information
- To read and reply to your inquiry
- To prepare for, hold and follow up on consultations
- To prepare a scope, quote or proposal you ask for
- To run, secure and improve this website
- To keep reasonable records of our business communications
- To meet our legal obligations
We don’t use your information for advertising.
Service providers
We use a small number of service providers to run this website and our studio. They handle information only as needed to provide their service:
- Vercel hosts this website and processes the technical information described above.
- Turso provides the database where inquiry form submissions are stored.
- Cal.com provides consultation booking.
- Resend sends our email notifications, including confirmations sent after an inquiry.
- Google provides the email service (Gmail) for messages sent to Romikwebstudio@gmail.com.
These providers may store or process information in the United States or other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. If you are in Canada, your information may be processed outside Canada.
We don’t sell your information
We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it with others for their own marketing. We share it only with the service providers above, when you ask us to, when the law requires it, or when it is needed to protect the rights, property or safety of Romik, our clients or others.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry and booking information for as long as we need it to respond to you, discuss a possible project and keep reasonable records of our business communications. If a project goes ahead, related information becomes part of our records for that project. When we no longer need information, we delete it. You can ask us to delete your inquiry at any time.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. This website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to stored inquiries is limited to the people who need it to do their work.
No website, internet connection or storage system is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. Please don’t send passwords, payment card numbers or other highly sensitive information through our form or by email.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete your information
- Stop contacting you
Depending on where you live, for example in Canada or in some US states, privacy laws may give you these and other rights. We’ll respond to requests as the law that applies to you requires, and we may need to confirm your identity first. To make a request, email Romikwebstudio@gmail.com.
If you aren’t satisfied with our response, you may be able to contact the privacy regulator where you live.
Links to other websites
This website links to services and websites we don’t control, such as Cal.com. Their privacy practices are their own, so please read their policies before sharing information with them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website or services change. When we do, we’ll post the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
