Modern Front Yard Design
A clean, welcoming arrival: a broad forecourt, statement planters and simple beds that suit the house.
Project overview
A plain builder-grade frontage reorganised into a composed entry. A wide paved forecourt leads to the door, with large planters and mulched beds doing the work a lawn used to do.
Design concept
Treat the walk to the door as the main event. Use a few large, simple elements instead of many small ones, and keep upkeep low.
Materials and finishes
| Broom-finished concrete | Forecourt and entry walk |
|---|---|
| Large glazed planters | Either side of the entry |
| Bark mulch | Foundation beds |
| Container trees and grasses | Planters, moved under cover for winter |
